Millimeter Optics Launches MES and ERP Upgrade Project

Following its conversion to a joint-stock company and its lead role in drafting industry association standards, Shanghai Millimeter Starlight Optics Co., Ltd. ("Millimeter Optics") has taken another key step in its digital transformation. On September 15, the kickoff meeting for Millimeter Optics' MES and ERP upgrade project was held successfully.

The company joined forces with MES provider Shuyi Gonglian and Yonyou ERP service provider Kundi, with all three project teams gathering on site to jointly define project goals, organizational roles, implementation scope and phased rollout plan. This marks the formal entry of this "specialized, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative" enterprise in the domestic micro-optical components sector into the implementation stage of end-to-end production data integration.

The upgrade project directly targets Millimeter Optics' core operational pain points, including multi-plant coordination, batch traceability and cost accounting. It will focus on connecting end-to-end data between MES and ERP to deliver transparent, real-time production progress, consistent and traceable accounts and inventory, and standardized shop-floor management, strengthening the company's digital foundation and laying the groundwork for future group-level upgrades and intelligent data analytics applications.

By using the simultaneous upgrade of MES and ERP as a lever to integrate data across the entire chain, Millimeter Optics is not only paving the way for its own group-level development, but also offering a replicable practical path for digital transformation among small and medium-sized manufacturers in the optics industry.
