IPG Acquires Lumibird Assets for About CNY 2.3 Billion

OFweek Laser reported on July 20 that global fiber laser leader IPG recently announced it has signed a binding offer to acquire Lumibird Medical, the medical laser systems business of Lumibird SA that focuses mainly on ophthalmology.

The main purpose of the acquisition is to expand IPG's presence in the high-margin medical market. IPG said the deal will be an important milestone in the company's strategic development, adding Lumibird Medical's ophthalmology business to IPG's existing medical laser operations in urology and dermatology.
