Changelight says its 100G VCSEL data communications product has entered the tape-out stage.
C114 News, August 24 (Yun Qing) — Xiamen Changelight Co., Ltd. recently released its 2026 interim report. The report shows that revenue in the first half reached RMB 890 million, down 48.94% year on year; net profit was RMB 90.45 million, up 30.64% year on year; and net profit excluding non-recurring items plunged 97.87% year on year to RMB 630,000.
Changelight said the company is mainly engaged in the R&D, production and sales of semiconductor optoelectronic products. Its main products include LED epitaxial wafers/chips, gallium arsenide solar cell products, and sensing and optical communication chips.
The report said the optical communication supply chain accelerated capacity expansion in the first half of 2026, with investments totaling nearly RMB 15 billion in optical communication chips alone. The optical communication supply chain is undergoing a paradigm shift from "communication pipeline" to "AI computing foundation."
In optical chips, during the reporting period the company focused on the industrialization and commercialization of optical communication products, continuing to step up R&D investment and customer development. Its VCSEL data communications 100G product has entered the tape-out stage; the CW-DFB optical chip has been commercialized in cooperation with a sister company under Hisense, while Micro LED optical communications is the subject of industry-academia-research collaboration with universities. At the same time, the company is actively pursuing R&D synergy with downstream module makers, developing multiple dedicated chips that have entered the sample delivery and validation stage. For automotive optical communications, the 980nm product series has completed sample delivery and passed customer validation of key performance metrics. For automotive multi-junction LiDAR chips, the fully in-house design delivers an output power of 50W and is undergoing customer validation. In high-end single-mode sensing chips, several in-house VCSEL chips, including 660nm and 1064nm devices, have entered mass production for consumer and medical aesthetics end markets, and ultra-low-power, narrow-linewidth 850/940nm single-mode VCSEL chips have passed validation with domestic customers.
Changelight's de facto controller is Hisense Group, which also owns optical module maker Zhongji Innolight, a global top-10 optical module supplier. Zhongji Innolight is currently pushing for a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
