ams OSRAM recently reported its results for the first half of 2026. Group revenue for the half year was €1.601 billion (approximately RMB 12.462 billion), broadly flat year on year, while adjusted EBITDA was €267 million, a margin of 16.7%. Due to one-off factors including a large redemption premium expense and transformation costs, the company posted a net loss of €121 million in the second quarter and a net loss of €276 million in the first half, though both narrowed significantly quarter on quarter.

The group posted revenue of €805 million (approximately RMB 6.266 billion) in the second quarter, up 4% year on year and 1% sequentially, landing at the high end of the guidance range. Adjusted EBITDA was €136 million, corresponding to a margin of 16.9%, also reaching the upper end of guidance.

By segment, the Opto Semiconductors (OS) division generated revenue of €364 million (approximately RMB 2.912 billion) in the second quarter, up 6% year on year and 11% sequentially, showing broad-based improvement driven by both the automotive and industrial markets, with seasonal and structural factors both contributing. Adjusted EBITDA was €65 million, up 18% sequentially, while the margin fell from 22.9% to 17.7% due to foreign exchange and raw material costs.

The CMOS Sensors and Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (CSA) division posted revenue of €257 million (approximately RMB 2.056 billion) in the second quarter, up 7% year on year and 14% sequentially, driven by a seasonal recovery in the consumer business and strong performance in the non-optical sensor business. Adjusted EBITDA reached €42 million, a sharp 75% increase sequentially, with a margin of 16.3%.

The Lighting & Systems (L&S) division posted revenue of €184 million (approximately RMB 1.472 billion) in the second quarter, down 4% year on year and 25% sequentially, mainly because the entertainment and industrial luminaire business was no longer consolidated following its sale. Adjusted EBITDA was €34 million (approximately RMB 272 million), up 16% year on year, with the margin reaching 18.3%, an increase of 3.1 percentage points from a year earlier, as profitability strengthened further despite the reduced business scope.
