On September 23, Xiaomi officially launched its 18 Pro flagship smartphone series. The entire lineup features Leica full-focal-length optics triple cameras, with both the main camera and the periscope telephoto using 200-megapixel large sensors. The periscope telephoto captures up to nearly 280 percent more light than the previous generation. The key component of the new phones' imaging system, the periscope telephoto module, is supplied by O-Film.
Public information shows that O-Film supplies new-generation periscope telephoto modules for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The modules use an internal focusing design, enabling sharp focusing at high telephoto magnification while maintaining a slim, compact form factor. O-Film also supplied the periscope telephoto module for the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, extending the two companies' collaboration in this category into a second generation of flagship products.
Recent business developments show O-Film accelerating the commercialization of its high-end optics portfolio. According to its 2026 interim report, the company has successfully brought into mass production high-end products including 7P optical lenses, periscope telephoto lenses, dual-group internal focusing lenses and variable-aperture lenses, and has entered the flagship supply chains of major domestic smartphone makers. Advanced lens projects such as 8P high-resolution main cameras, three-group continuous zoom and glass-plastic hybrid lenses have also been successfully developed. On the module side, innovative products including floating macro modules, periscope telephoto macro modules and Power prism ultra-light-gathering modules have entered scaled mass production, while continuous optical zoom technology has achieved key breakthroughs.
In the first half of 2026, the company invested 730 million yuan in R&D, accounting for 9.31 percent of operating revenue, with high-end optical products remaining its core investment focus.
